Artist & Provenance
Hilmer Bengtsson (12 April 1925 – 3 April 1995) was a Swedish painter from Ruda in Kalmar County known for his mid‑20th‑century landscape and figurative oil paintings. He trained at Académie Libre in Stockholm, the Skånska målarskolan, and Mogen Andersson’s school in Copenhagen, and undertook study trips to Italy, Denmark and Spain. His work was exhibited at venues including Kalmar Art Museum and remains sought after in Scandinavian art markets for its Scandinavian modernist sensibility.
