Artist & Provenance
Erik Leonard Emanuelsson (1914–1987) was a Swedish artist born in Hishult, Halland County. He studied at the Konstgillets painting school in Borås and later in France (1946–1948) under Othon Friesz, André Plason, and Pierre Jérôme at the Académie Julian. Emanuelsson debuted in 1949 at the Art Gallery in Borås and subsequently exhibited widely. His oeuvre includes still lifes, model studies, portraits, cityscapes, and landscapes. Still Life exemplifies his ability to capture atmosphere and decorative richness through expressive brushwork, situating his artistry within Nordic traditions of the mid‑20th century.
