Alvar Lundgren (1906–1982) was born in Borgstena, Älvsborg County. He studied at Borås Painting School and undertook study trips to France, Germany, Holland, and other parts of Europe, developing a lyrical, romantic style rooted in Scandinavian artistic tradition.
He exhibited in his hometown in 1938 and 1941, and held around ten solo exhibitions across various Swedish cities, receiving consistently positive reviews. His works are represented in private collections and in approximately 100 schools and public institutions, where he contributed oils, tempera works, pastels, and mosaics.
